The vast ‘scape’ whether it be the sea, plains, mountains, desert, or the stars, brings an important sense of belonging and perspective that has shaped human development.  I believe this perspective is vital to the ‘quiet’ part of the human experience, to imagination, to reflection, and to a desire for deeper understanding.

In my work I try to reach for that quiet place, a place of wonder, and reflection.  I have always been drawn to abstract art, because it frees the mind to experience each work in a very personal way.

Although I am most often inspired by landscapes and images of space, I do not try to duplicate or imitate these places.  Instead I am inspired by their colors and forms to create unique spaces for the mind to wander and perhaps to speak to the quiet within.

I received my BFA from the University of Michigan in 1997.  I live and work in Michigan.
